The formal review period for Philippe A. Bouchard's shifted_ptr library has ended. At this time, the shifted_ptr library will not be accepted into Boost. The submission was rejected primarily on the grounds that its documentation was incomplete. Reviewers have requested complete semantic descriptions of shifted_ptr's operations, in addition to more rationale and introductory material. Reviewers also expressed concern with the potentially unsafe construction of shifted_ptr objects from a raw pointer; several solutions have been proposed. There is considerable interest in this library, and we hope that Philippe will address reviewers' concerns and bring this library forward for a second review in the future.
