I also need some way to associate extra data with slots that is accessable from the combiner, so as to decide to call some slots and not others. Policy-based ordering of slots, and even slot groups, could use this information to create custom orderings. As near as I can tell, this is not easily possible in the current version of Boost.Signal, and can only be accomplished by creating a separate parallel data structure, which (in my opinion) negates most of the usefulness of Boost.Signal in the first place.
