Dear All, its working now. All I did was download the boost executable and run it to install boost and then run the bjam command with parameters for boost install and it worked. Many thanks to all who helped Regards Theo

So it was the extraction that failed originally? If so, could you tell us what program you used, so we can warn people when they have similar problems.
