Although I got it working I did have to apply a small hack which I feel I have to mention. The file lib/thread/build/threads.jam refers to the PTW32_LIB directory via a subdirectory pre-built. So unless the lib and include subdirs are in a subdir called 'pre-built' it does not work. I removed "/pre-built" from the jam file and then all was ok. I am not sure why 'pre-built' is there since a pre-built library can be installed in any location that people want. Shouldn't this be removed? If not then perhaps PTW32_LIB can be added as additional directory to search for the lib and include files without the 'pre-built' qualifier.
