Me personally I am very cool about (existing) interruption support. I think thread interruption really ought to be part of an improved, more generic C++ exception handling mechanism, and not bolted on top by user code. In other words, thread interuption in my opinion really ought to be supported directly by the C++ runtime. But that's another discussion you can read about on the ISO study groups (if you're really bored).

may I contact you for some info regarding to this issue (I'd like to benefit from your knowledge)?
Of course! Though I fear I have little knowledge to share, except that of how ignorant I am. Niall -- Currently unemployed and looking for work. Work Portfolio: http://careers.stackoverflow.com/nialldouglas/
