The random filenames aren't from quickbook, they're from reference documentation generated using doxygen. Quickbook will generate an id from the title if a section doesn't have an id.

I've concluded that the best 'solution' is not to have any generated files in GIT. Apart from the time to regenerate (only a problem with Boost.Math ;-) there is no great merit in having them and I'm much happier without. But thanks for your comments. Paul --- Paul A.
