Is there any rationale for the choice of name? Hana is simultaneously a rare word and also (I think) a registered trademark of the technology company SAP.
SAP Hana is a database so there is little scope for confusion between it and Boost.Hana amongst tech professionals but from the outside world I'm not so sure...
Here:

it says:
I just needed a short and good looking name that people would easily remember, and Hana came up.
Thanks for the link Larry.
That reasoning reads rather awkwardly when SAP's Hana pre-dates Louis's library and is trademarked (albeit only in the context "SAP Hana"??)
But IANAL, it is up to Louis to decide whether there is a real issue to address here.
Had I known about SAP Hana, I would probably have chosen a different name. However, I was already contacted a couple of times by people that were concerned with the trademark, so I checked exactly what is being trademarked. What's trademarked is "SAP Hana", not "Hana" itself. Plus, one could argue that the library's name is "Boost.Hana" (if accepted), in which case there is little room for confusion. But IANAL either. Bottom line: SAP, if you're going to sue me, just tell me and I'll change the name. :-) But seriously, it would be painful to change the name at this point because the library is starting to be publicized and the last thing we need is a name change. Regards, Louis
