boost::shared_array doesn't need to be part of the standard. The extensions to boost::shared_ptr added in Boost 1.53.0 for array types (and the new boost::allocate_shared and boost::make_shared for boost::shared_ptr of array types) need to be part of the standard. :) (boost::shared_ptr has everything boost::shared_array<T> has, and more).
