Linux needs to adopt kqueues
Is there any progress in this area? I'm using Arch Linux and epoll currently to support what I'm working on, but am thinking about checking out FreeBSD. It's hard to tell if FreeBSD would be a good move even though kqueue is appealing.
kqueues really are the correct design for i/o multiplexing. I implemented these for QNX whilst at BlackBerry and you really began to realise just how the Linux approach is braindead at scale. To my knowledge though, no progress. A good userspace emulation exists though, I think it even attempted to work on Windows :).
