Hi,
Email from certain people on the list is marked as spam by gmail: "Why is this message in Spam? It has a from address in teamviewer.com but has failed teamviewer.com's required tests for authentication. "
Is there a problem with the setup of this mailing list?
In my gmail filter I selected "Never send it to Spam" so I don't have this problem. Although it still adds a notification that the message could have been sent to spam.

I get this problem too. It's at least a few emails a week that end up there.

I suspect that you'll see the same issue with emails from me. I don't think it is the responsibility of the list to resolve it; either the sender needs a more relaxed SPF rule, or the recipient needs more relaxed checking. Regards, Phil.

I don't agree. Isn't there a proper solution for this? -- Olaf

I'm not an expert on this topic, but might be root of the problem be that some mails are sent via NNTP(e.g. Gmane)? Otherwise this would really be a fundamental problem with SPF and not easy so solve. Extending the SPF for every mailing-list I'm active is not an option. FYI: I used to send my mail via Gmane. Sorry for my mail from yesterday, I didn't switch it for the test. This mail was sent using my regular Mail-Account and regular Mail-Server. If this mail is not marked as spam it is probably only a problem when using NNTP for Mailing-Lists. Regards, Christian

I guess that's me. Probably because I use Gmane's web interface to post messages instead of my e-mail account.

I'm using my e-mail account to write this mail from the same domain as Marcel does. I hope this mail is not marked as spam. I would appreciate if somebody would give feedback if this mail is marked as Spam by Gmail or similar providers. Regards, Christian

It would have been, if not for my filter. Gmail displays this warning: This message was not sent to Spam because of a filter you created.

FYI, if you have a gmail filter for a mailing list, you can configure the filter in gmail settings to "never send to spam". That's what I did for the boost mailing lists. -- Frank

That's not going to change anything compared to posting from e.g. gmane. The spam-classification due to SPF (see my previous message) is due to the mailing list server sending a message apparently from teamviewer.com that does actually come from an IP address that is allowed by teamviewer.com's SPF rules. Regards, Phil.
Who's responsible for the technical site of the list?

Yes, I found this in my spam box and had to comment on the irony. But a lot of the Boost messages seem to end up in my spam box unfortunately. -Matt
