RIP Paul. Much missed. Paul helped me find my way to Boost (Math/Multiprecision)over a decade ago. He helped us and mysefl with manyfascinating and challenging topics. He was always good-natured, strong in the tech we pursue and happy to help. Yet he remained willing to learn and share.He was truly a friendly, pleasant and excellent collaborator. I will miss him. Pardon me if this is an awfully late response. I was doing a backread and saw this message, and I got very emotional. I'm sorry I wasn't paying attention. It's sad that people I know have passed, including Paul and Beman. Boost wouldn't be the same without them. But yes, time moves on. And indeed Boost is a very different place now. There are new members, and very few familiar faces I remember when I first started joining in the discussions 24 years ago. Well that sucks. He was about my age also with young children right? If so, that really sucks. I remember me and Paul diagnosing why my code ran like crap on his brand new AMD rig many many years ago. It took weeks to figure it out, but with much patience and laborious testing by him on his side of things we eventually figured it out. Not many are willing to do that I have found in my experience so far. Maybe a handful from all over the internet in the past twenty five years or so. Paul was a rare one. Niall

Sad news. My condolences to his close ones. Paul was one of the first Boost people I had the opportunity to interact with back in 2004, and he was always extremely kind and helpful. I particularly remember his interest and support during the development of a GSoC 2007 project I mentored (SVG_plot), which he eventually took the reponsibility of maintaining and extending. Too sad. A few years ago Paul helped me a lot with writing a book. It was nice to talk with him and discuss different things. He left a very good impression. RIP
